Moved house, V5C log in (locked) workplace.
I've just moved house and wanted to update my address. Apparently I need to mail in my logbook with the new address. However, my V5C logbook is at work which I cannot access, the building is locked. I could say I lost it and get a new logbook, but I need to send a £25 cheque. I do not have a chequebook.

Wait until work is unlocked, find the logbook and then send it off

thanks for the quick reply! I don't see how I have any other option!
Do you know how long of a grace period you have between moving and when you have to update your address with the DVLA? I already have my new driver's licence.

The vehicle does not have to be registered at your address but it must be registered to an address where you are contactable. Can you get access to mail at that address or put in redirection ? The biggest problem is receiving the tax reminder and any speeding fines or parking tickets.

There is no grace period, but the address must be one at which you can be contacted. If you have an arrangement with whoever is at your old address to pass on any post, or you have paid for a mail redirection, then you don't need to change it until the mail redirection finishes.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

The DVLA are not dealing with paper applications at the moment (and I assume that includes change of addresses) so for the time being I wouldn't worry too much about it.0

Then if any half wit tries to make a thing about it later the OP can say I did tell them my new address0
