Over limit because of authorisation

in Credit cards
I have a new credit card from MBNA with a promotional interest-free period. Clearly it is important to keep to the cards T & Cs in order to retain the promotional offer. So I was disturbed to receive a text message saying that I have exceeded my credit limit. The reason for this is a pending transaction (authorisation) for £1,400: I have not made this transaction but did make a £1,000 transaction to the same merchant so do not believe that this is fraudulent but an authorisation that will eventually drop off my list of transactions. However, I am worried that it could put me in breach of the cards T & Cs and so lead to the loss of the promotion.
Is there anything I should do? (I attempted to call MBNA but they are not answering.) Or, can anyone reassure me?

Is there not a high limit on the card?0

I don't think that the pre-authorisation would count as being over limit...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -

Pretty high but I am fairly close to it. (Obviously there are other transactions.)

I agree - until the sum is actually posted I do not think it counts1
