Old HTC desire z

I’m trying to get an old HTC desire Z A7272 phone back up and working, it’s on ee but the internet setting are all wrong, I’ve done factory reset and tried putting setting in from ee website, but still no internet only google. When I try and access internet I get a message saying “ Data connectivity problem A secure connection could not be established “  and that’s for most pages some like ebay do do connect but don’t load properly but strangely google loads up !!!! Am I best just binning it but part of me just won’t give up 🤔.
