Hotel cancels ...voucher or cash refund?

You are entitled to a cash refund.
If you agree to a voucher you might end up having to accept the voucher T&Cs.

I have a booking with Travelodge on 23 May.  I haven’t received a cancellation yet.  Mine is also a Saver Rate (non refundable) so I will wait to see if they cancel and offer a refund.  I don’t want the voucher as I don’t want to rebook. I was just there for the Chester Races - not happening.  It will be interesting to see if the CMA investigation changes things.

Hi, I have fallen into the same trap, booked 5 rooms at hotels.com for a family holiday at a cost of £3000, accepted the voucher as we are happy to book for next year but voucher will only let us book one room and no refund on the voucher so will need to stay for 4 weeks if we book one room and the rest of the family will loose their money how can that be right.
