Ruby, glad to see you're doing better today. re the lump, it's usually excess fluid that can't be absorbed at the same rate it's being produced so sometimes it'll be up, sometimes down. If it stays up, ring the nurses to get it aspirated. They might grumble, but they will do it.

Morning all, we have some sun, cloud and wind so the WM is on !My plans were sent awry yesterday and the kitchen floor didn't get an all over wash but the fridge did...... in milk
One of the milk cartons must have had a slow puncture and the fridge was a milk lake. I just hope it hasn't dripped into the back 'cos it will smell awful in a while.... guess how I know that. It took 2 of us to mop and clean it up, mainly because I couldn't reach the top shelf properly ! Anyone got a few spare inches I could have ?Today I shall put out the washing, fill the DW and get that going, then I want to get out in the garden to do some lopping. Next door planted a weeping tree near our hedge many years ago and no one has ever touched it, so now it's getting a bit out of hand and hanging down over our side. I shall chop it back a bit so it doesn't hang over as I have to creep under it to cut the hedge now. I have 2 empty green waste bins to fill too before they collect a week Tuesday, but it won't take me long to do with all the garden debris hidden in the shrubbery. I can't do anything about the large tree trunks though, as even if the tip was open I wouldn't visit.I hate the smell of lilies, they make my eyes water ! Saying that my day lilies are already in bud, but they are not in the lily family, just look like them and give a beautiful show of yellow flowers.Tea tonight will be the remainder of the pasta bake and we will have some part baked bread to go with it. Right I must stop waffling and hang the washing out.Camelot I'm so sorry that your uncle lost his battle. Hugs.RedRuby I hope you have some information now and things are being sorted.Take care and stay safe if you have to go out. Hugs to all.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -

Morning all.
Glad you feel better this morning RR, there are bound to be ups and downs. And I was going to say the same thing to TA, don't let Sparkle near those lilies, they can be lethal to cats.
Camelot, so sorry that you have lost your uncle. Even if you didn't see him often he was still family, and it is too close to home.
AOD, taff was right. Let them sort their own shirts out. Having said that, I recall an occasion years ago, when I had broken a leg and an elbow at the same time and was plastered beyond usefulness. My ex was moaning that he had run out of clean clothes so I explained slowly, as to an idiot child, the mechanics of collecting the dirty clothes, where to find the soap powder, where to put it into the machine, which programme to use and how to set it, close the door and press start.
After an age he reappeared, red of face and cross. "Which one's the washing machine?" he demanded.
I made sure that my two sons were well trained in the ways of looking after themselves.
Bright sunshine here. Must make the most of it.

Just back from my excursion and wanted to add in my condolences to Camelot and her family. Such sadness all round.Think I had the best of the day, the bright sunshine has gone away with cloud moving in to cover the sun. I had a good whizz round Waitrose, they've got a new queuing system for the tills to avoid bunging up the aisles - mind you I seemed to be the only one actually in the right place! I pity the poor staff trying to move people around.I stoppped at the gazebo place for my flat white and bacon roll - such small pleasures seem so important these days, it's a slight touch of normality. On my way back from delivering groceries to a neighbour I spied a chap doing an onsite car valet so got his number. My car is awful inside and I can't reach most places yet, especially the inside of the windscreen.Lilies - lovely flowers, evil smell! It gives me a a huge allergic reaction so I have to cut out the pollen bits which then gets everywhere. Peonies rule, for now!
TA - was it you who was reading 'Carrie's War'? Cant' remember - I bought it for DM and she's enjoying it. She hated the Neil Gaimen 'Coraline' and seems dismissive of 'Felix, the railway cat' even though she hasn't opened it yet.Time for some reading.12 -
Camelot, I'm so sorry to hear your news.
Ruby, take it easy, I was surprised at how long it took to recover from the op.
There is no news here, surprise, surprise. I am continuing to make my jacket out of a kantha quilt, who knows how it will turn out. We also have our weekly zoom meeting with the family but that is the extent of our day.14 -
Afternoon all,Sunny at the mo but a bit mixed today.Camelot, sending my sympathies to you, you sound very fond of your uncle & it's so sad xRuby, glad you feel a bit better xWe've all had a good tidy up today, changed bedding etc.Pre ordered an Italian takeaway from the place up the road, at least it keeps them going.Contactless delivery & they put their hygiene/ distancing on their website to reassure people. It was very good last time, not as good as being in the hustle & bustle of an Italian family restaurant ( cheaper though
) Just something different to mark the weekend & break the monotony!Might do a bit more sewing now, trouble is both DH and the dog are snoring away
Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Afternoon all

Nice n sunny here, but not as warm as last week .Have pegged out, n Bon's lying under the dripping washing, strange pooch 😂
I'm really allergic to the pollen off lilies, my throat literally closes up, n yea they are toxic for cats
I've made face masks out of tights, inspired by Lee off Goggle box, when he did it with a sock .Wore it to my mate's yesterday, whilst we sat in the garden. Her dog wasn't impressed lol.
I binge watched the new series Hollywood, on Netflix last night. Can highly recommend it .Anyone have any more recommendations? DP1, the film was fab
CAMELOT, I'm so sorry about your uncle hun
Anyway must get going, huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today 😘xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

GERS No it wasn't me reading Carrie's War. Oh dear your DM sounds unimpressed by the story of Felix! I am envious of you with the Gazebo shop, everything sounds so tempting!
I do know about the dangers of lily pollen and cats but thanks for the warning anyway as it might help someone else who may be reading along. The lilies are safely out of Sparkle's reach!
The washing of the winter rain jacket was a success so I have been having a coat sort out, intending to wash summer weight jackets in case of release whilst it's warm enough to wear them! I piled them on the bed and when I went back for them Sparkle was curled up asleep on them!! So the job is on hold until tomorrow, I hadn't the heart to move her!
It's been a lovely sunny day but not as warm as it was before the rains came. But they say it will get warmer midweek. Stay safe folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Evening all
Camelot.....sorry to hear about your uncle.
Ruby......glad that you are feeling better, please continue to take it easy.
14c here today which, with no wind, is very pleasant.
Momma......you reminded me of the phone call I had from OH shortly after he retired, while I was still working 25k away. "Which number do I turn the washing machine to?" "5"( that being the one that would do least damage to whatever he had put in) " !!!!!! lovey there is no 5 on it" .It then dawned on me that he was talking about the dishwasher!!
Nothing exciting happening here, no easing of Covid lockdown until 18 May and then very little, at least I will be able to get some compost then, as garden centres will be open.
Take care everybody, this won't last forever, but while it does stay safe.
