Taking advantage of furlough

My husband has recently been made redundant. Just before lockdown came into effect, he received written notice that he was being furloughed. Less than a week later, he receives another letter stating that he was actually being made redundant. When challenged, his employed said that to furlough the staff was not financially viable for the continuation of the business. He has just received his final pay slip which is about £100 down on his usual salary and some of it is labelled as "100% furlough". I feel like they are doing something a bit dodgy here - making staff redundant but using furlough to their own benefit for final pay packets. Does anyone know if this is something they can do? Let's not even get into the fact they have deducted money owed to the business from his last two pay packets, prior to issuing us with an invoice and also without consent 🙄

They can not use the furlough money for redundancy pay. It something that they have said they will be looking at in the future. However I am sure some will slip through, they can't check everybodies. If you think they have you could report them0
