Missing credit account on file

Hello, I am in the process of trying to apply for a mortgage but could do with my score improving a bit more. My credit account with Sky (tv, bb, phone and mobile) and also my gas and electricity provider, Simplicity Energy, aren’t showing on my report and they have been consistently paid for 3 years.

Does anyone know how I can get these added to my report? Sky have already said they can’t do it and I haven’t heard back from Simplicity or Experian as of yet.

Thank you in advance.

Hello nothing to worry about, some companies report to some credit agencies and not others. A mortgage lender will search all credit agencies it feels are relevant. The big 3 are Experian, Equifax, Trans union.

It’s not showing on any of them though. My mortgage advisor said I need to get them added as it’ll boost my score. So I’m trying to work out how to do that. Just seeing if anyone had managed it previously. Thanks

You need a new mortgage advisor.

Companies report to whoever they want to - which may be no one.  It's not done at the request of customers. And you don't need to boost your score.  You need the best credit history you can get.  Your score can be minus 5 for all a lender will care.

Sky don’t report to the CRA’s.
And if your broker is advising you to boost your “score” then I would be advising them that you’re going to be looking elsewhere for a new broker.

As has been said - some companies don't report - the two you've mentioned are two examples that come into that category. If your broker doesn't know that - I'm not sure they're a good broker. If you've not committed to anything yet - I might consider getting a second opinion elsewhere...
