Vehicle tax refund

Sold my car in January after I had just taxed it. Automatic refund hasn’t come and I can’t claim it back on the DVLA website. The bot is useless. Any ideas how to get my refund I could do with £500.

I suspect whoever you sold it to hasn't notified the DVLA they are the new keeper and so are benefiting from the VED you had just renewed (possibly on purpose).0

Did you notify DVLA that you had sold the car?
Other ways to apply
Fill in the log book and post it to DVLA. You’ll get a letter within 4 weeks confirming you’re no longer the keeper of the vehicle.
If you do not have a log book you must write to DVLA with:
- your name and address
- the vehicle registration number
- the make and model
- the exact date of sale
- the name and address of the new keeper
Your notification can be rejected if you do not give all the information. This will also affect any vehicle tax refund you’re owed.
