Nursing elective refund

I was meant to be travelling to Indonesia as a nursing elective. I’d paid a £300 deposit to ‘work the world’ and they are refusing to pay this back due to administration fees already spent. Instead they’ve offered to postpone the trip for up to 18 months. However this won’t be doable for me due to circumstances, the purpose was to fly this year. As for flights, I booked with ‘trail finders’ who have guaranteed 75% back, however what about the other 25%. I’m potentially loosing £650 here. Hope someone can help. Thank you.

have the flights been cancelled by the airline or are they still scheduled to operate?
  • It wasn’t flying until July so I imagine they haven’t been cancelled yet as online guidance says up until the end of may. However the work the world element definitely has. They’ve cancelled electives this year. So even if the flights could go ahead, I physically cannot go as I don’t have a placement to fly to.

Remember that as far as trail finders and the airline are concerned, the reason for your travel is immaterial. If the flights are still operating at that time and you can actually enter the country then their are no grounds for a refund if you cancel apart from possibly goodwill
  • This is what I thought too, any suggestions with the deposit for the placement?

Ts & Cs. What do they say for starters. If they have already done work that has used up the deposit then I can understand their stance.
