Faulty goods

So I brought a phone online, I brought it in February, we’re now in May! I didn’t realise until last week that the back camera doesn’t work (well it works but it moves from side to side when recording) also the speaker doesn’t work, because when I make a phone call people can hardly hear me. I’ve contact the website and they have said even though it’s not fit for purpose they won’t issue a refund because it’s not within the 14 day refund period... what can I do about this? The have said they could try and fix it but I’d have to go 5 weeks without a phone.. now if it’s not fit for purpose surly I can be refunded as it’s a faulty good?!  Can you help please

Thank you

    Where did you bring it?

As it is more than 30 days yet less than 6 motnhs from purchase then the seller is obliged to offer a remedy (repair, replace, refund) but the form of remedy is effectively their choice. Any remedy offered must be performed in a reasonable time frame ... given the current COVID-19 situation then the definition of "reasonable" is open for debate.

To clarify - you do not have the right to a refund.
A company is entitled to try and repair the product first if they wish to do so.
