Club Med Cancelled as closed until the end of June to UK residents

Hi there, can anyone help please. First, I did buy insurance last October when I bought flights with Jet2 and accommodation with Club Med Resort in Portugal. Jet2 cancelled our flights a couple of weeks ago and I am waiting for them to get back in contact with me. I informed Club Med that our flights were cancelled, however the resort is now closed until 30th June to all UK residents. I received an email from them yesterday cancelling our accommodation and they attached a credit note which is only valid until January 2021. We have no desire to travel anywhere this year and want a full refund for this. Since the resort is closed should I be given an option of a cash refund? Or do I claim through my insurance? Club Med are ABTA and ATOL covered.
Thank you
Thank you
