In the middle of a notice period when furlough was announced, will they be eligible?

My stepdaughter was in the middle of her notice period from a well known sandwich shop when the lockdown and furlough was announced.
Will she be eligible for the furlough scheme?

Well more details would be helpful. When did she give her notice and how long was it for?

The company can continue to pay her furlough money after her notice expires but that would be their choice. Can she withdraw her notice?

She's not been in contact, she was very unhappy at the end of her employment, which is why she handed in her notice.

The notice period was 2 weeks.
She doesn't want to withdraw her notice

Once she ceases to be employed she cannot be furloughed by her ex employer.

So she only was with the company a week after the furlough scheme came in?

In which case she might get nothing as the minimum you can be furloughed for is 3 weeks. But it is the end of April now, surely she has received her final pay by now as well? Has she been paid for that final week?

Its complicated by the fact that she tells us she's not had any contact from her manager, so we can't determine whether her notice was accepted or not.
She has been paid this month but looked puzzled when we asked her about her pay slip, which seems to indicate that she doesnt get one.
The situation is also being made worse by the fact her mother has watched one of Martin's videos about his friend who lost his job and is convinced that means she is entitled, she refuses to consider that I pointed out that this person was not in a notice period and also that as it seems to me from other posts and answers above, it'll be at the discretion of the employer as to whether they take her back (if she actually served her notice, I realise I forgot to mention that she was off on the sick when she handed her notice in and has not worked since before she handed in her notice)

If she hasn't worked for some weeks, then probably her pay was just Statutory Sick Pay.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    Then she won't be furloughed.
