Having desktop problems, thought initially to be power supply, replacement proved otherwise, have now got it stable but with side off case, so suspect heat of some form a problem, so ran FanSpeed.
Temp: winbound W83627THF 15A £290 = 128
a little high me thinks as it shows a flame at the side of it. What area is this referring to? and should I be worried about the temp?
Thanks
DG

Looks like the CPU, turn your computer off and make sure all the dust/fluff is removed from the fan/heatsink.
Also open Task Mangaer (CTRL+ALT+DEL) when the computer isn't doing anything (but is switched on) and check if the CPU is running at 100%,0 -
Thanks TG looks expensive then. I have blown the CPU out, but a fan is definitely noisy so maybe not working correctly. Can you do anything with but replace them?

if you know any one with an Infra red thermal probe, or can borrow one, this sould be able to find your hot spots and temps.
some PSUs use the fan position to blow air over the processor/box. You new fan does blow/suck in the same direction as the old one.
If it is a fan problem, don't repair/oil/clean bearings as it will only help for a short time just replace it. Cleaning blades and housing are fine though. Also blow out he cpu radiator slots, vents, fins, thingsGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

Far from being expensive, a Fan is one of the cheapest components to replace in a PC
Remember to get a tube of Thermal compound in case the new one comes without.

If you post what CPU you have, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people willing to advise which heatsink is best for you. They're not that hard to fit. Usually hardest thing is getting to the thing with all the cables in the way.
In fact, depending on what heatsink/fan you already have, it might be possible to just change the fan and keep the heatsink.0 -
