If prang car 1 do i need to inform seperate insurer of car 2 ?
I Have 2 cars - each with different insurer
I had a prang at a roundabout in my first car, my fault (I think)
Must I inform the insurers of my second car of the accident, obviously this one was not involved in a prang?
If so can they increase premium mid term or refuse to insure me anymore?
Is it likely to increase premium on both cars in future insurances? if so for how many years?
If I get a speeding ticket would I need to inform both insurers immediately also?

Yes you need to tell both insurers of any material facts.0

You are under a contractual agreement to inform your insurance companies of any accident, claims or convictions irrespective of which car you were driving at the time.
If you do this, you will probably get hit with higher premiums but unless you have a very poor driving history, I think it unlikely that they will cancel either of the policies.
However, fail to disclose anything such as an accident of conviction and if/when they find out, you may well end up with a cancelled policy, something that at the least will result in far higher premiums in the future and quite possibly the refusal of many insurers to provide cover.1 -
Yes you do. I drive lorries for a living and if I have an accident in that I have to inform car insurance on renewal.2

You will need to tell them both, but you will need to check each policy to find out when to tell them.
Some insurers want to know immediately, others at renewal.1 -
I contacted my second Insurer and they said no change to existing policy with them - but likely premium will go up at renewal which is something I am expecting anyway and for the next 5 years possibly which is what you normally have to inform them of
thanks for you advice folks

Hopefully by shopping around at renewal you can minimise any increase.0
