Testing stations

Both me and my better half can get tested because we both work as key workers, mu wife a nurse and me in school, after a lot of messing about on the gov website I managed to get to the point for picking a testing station, now I know there is one only 3 miles away, but no the Gov site wants to send me 23 miles away, has anyone else had this problem. Other problem is we don't drive so having to break the rules and get a life with someone to a site. I did read someone turned up on a bike and they wont test him, what do you do if you don't drive ?

The one 3 miles away may be temporary and may have all slots booked.  If it is a temporary one it may be one to avoid - the temp ones run by the army have been having major issues and some people have had to sit in their cars with the windows closed for 3 hours while they wait as the army have been running out of testing kits and have had to wait for vehicles to arrive with more, despite only testing people who have pre-booked appointments.

I understand some test centres have a walk-in option for those who don't have symptoms but need tests but don't know how you ensure you book one.

Postal kits should become available again at some point.
    Keep trying.

Apparently 30% of results have come back as inconclusive, so it might be the government want to focus on having tests done by people who've been trained on how to do them in an attempt to reduce that figure.

If your wife is a nurse can't she organise it through work? I know my hospital is actually pretty organised and efficient with staff testing. As I understand it testing for those without symptoms is only currently offered to NHS staff but I may be wrong on that.
