Ive got a Ring video doorbell and renewed the yearly subscription about 4 weeks ago for the usual £24.99 fee for the year. Not a problem. Was checking my bank statement today and saw a transaction called 'Ring Yearly Fee' for £49.99 go out which I did not authorise, or agree to in any way (plus ive already paid the £24.99 about a month ago)
I've emailed Ring, and amazon customer services (as the own Ring Doorbells) and had a computer generated reply saying "We have been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19, and in order to protect our team and their families, we've temporarily reduced the staffing in our support centers and will only be handling inbound chats and calls at this time."
Ive tried calling them too but it doesnt go through, what else can I do please?

All you can to is to keep trying. Odd that the amount is £49.99 when the only 2 yearly subs they offer are for £24.99 and £80 per year.0

Thanks people. I've spent hours trying to contact them with no avail. I too wondered why the strange fee, as for the last 2 years its been £24.99 for one camera, or £80 per annum for multiple cameras. I'll keep trying0

Are you sure it's definitely £49.99 and not £49.98, the latter would obviously account for 2 basic yearly subs.0

If it is a direct debit ask the bank to refund it under the DD guarantee saying you did not authorise the payment.
I used to be Treasurer of an organisation that collected most of its subs by DD. We had to pay significant insurance to use the DD scheme. Every year we would get a few people call their subscriptions back after several months, claiming to the bank that they told us they didn't want to renew. The bank refunded them, debited us and charged us a significant fee for the privilege!0
