Hi everyone
My Wife and I bought Groupon vouchers specifically to visit a hotel in the Lake District. Unfortunately about a week before the trip, the hotel closed its doors due to the lockdown. Groupon is being really helpful (not) and saying we can have credit vouchers. My problem is that I don't really want over £200 tied up in vouchers when there's no guarantee that this hotel will be open or even accept the vouchers if/when its doors open again. Has anyone had any luck in getting a refund?

Another happy Groupon customer!
I'm afraid the summary is: you bought vouchers, you're entitled to a refund in vouchers. They have no obligation to refund you in any other form. Next time, pay using real money. You don't surrender flexibility that way.1 -

I'll never use them again! Honestly their customer service is terrible. It wasn't even cheaper, you just got a complimentary bottle of wine thrown in.0

They are a triumph of marketing over rationality. What's a decent bottle of wine cost? A tenner?0
