I can't afford holiday now due to reduced salary as a result of Covid 19

I can no longer afford my holiday to Cape Verdi due to being on a reduced salary as a result of Covid 19. I have now missed the next payment date of the 11th April, I finally managed to talk to someone at Tui this week and explained the situation to them, they were not interested. I had only paid a £200.00 deposit when I booked the holiday on the 15th Feb, I had received a payment reminder. When talking to them this week I was not asking for my £200.00 back I was happy to loose that, but all they could say was that I owed them the balance of the deposit which was another £600.00. I have since cancelled the holiday and apparently owe then the money, do I have to pay this? They were totally uninterested in my change of circumstances due to Covid 19.

Afraid so , you must have signed up for their low deposit scheme when you booked. You contract to pay the balance of the deposit by a set date.
If they will actually currently chase you further for the money is another matterEx forum ambassador
