I have been furloughed and just had my pay but it’s not at  80% it’s full pay
Can my employer take 2 months deductions next month ?

It depends what you have agreed to.  some employers will top up to full pay.  Best to check with your employer as it could be a mistake and if you have agreed to be paid less, they may seek to recover it from next month's pay.
  • Surely it’s their mistake and taking 2 months deductions is unfair
Can it not be spread over a few months ?

An employer is always entitled to correct any accidental over payment. Although many will allow it to be spread, there is no automatic right to this.

Given that you think you may have been overpaid, keep the excess to one side then it won't be a problem if they take it back next month!

If your pay varies, you can be paid the higher of your pay for the same month last year or your average pay for the 19-20 tax year. Could that apply to you?
