I don't think it's a gift to the nanny just somewhere for the nanny to live as part of the job offer I'm sure the salary would reflect the benefit accordingly.

What if the Nanny lives locally (perhaps with a boyfriend/girlfriend) or doesn't want the flat (bedsit/studio?) offered...

Having a flat as part of the job would also be a taxable benefit...

I explained what would happen.

Much easier to explain now rather than when he hears about it from the broker.
