What is this amazing tree?

I see this beauty during my daily stroll and it resembles a big fluffy cat, and it's incredibly soft to the touch.

I ran it through PlantNet which says CRYPTOMERIA Japonica, and while it does look like other pictures, it's not identical.

    Yes, there's a fine one  in a garden we visit in the local Open Gardens event. Very impressive and tactile, though do they get as large as the one in the photo??.
    Not so impressive is the 40cm one I bought my wife  for Christmas, but it was 'Spiralis' and about 10% of the price of 'Nana'.
    With a bit of luck she'll never know!  ;)
