Small Business Grant for Live/Work unit

My property is registered for small business rates and qualifies for small business rate relief. They are a live/work unit. Does anyone know if they qualify for the small business grant?

Potentially, the only relevant exclusion appears to be:
- Properties occupied for personal uses, such as private stables and loose boxes, beach huts and moorings
Ring up the council with your business rates account number and see what they say.0 -
Thanks Sachs, I do not know if my property counts as 'personal use' or is just a percentage or what. And the SBR office are not taking phone calls! Also, my experience is that when given the choice, bureaucrats find it easier to say no than yes, so wanted to get some external input. But looks like I'll have to email them and see what comes back...0

Visit the website of the Council issuing the rates bill and see if you can go through an online application process.0

My experience is that local authorities are tying to get money to as many people in their communities as they legally can. Bureaucrats, MPs, local councillors are all working hard to achieve this under fairly rigid guidelines. If you were in my LA area and in receipt of small business rate relief I would anticipate they would have already written to you to invite you to apply, indeed I am aware that they are even currently tracking people down on facebook who haven't responded to letters.0

Surely your premises are basically no different to a shop with a flat over occupied by the shopkeeper. The shop is a definite place of business and subject to business rates and the flat subject to Council Tax
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
