You've put £20 on your Nintendo account and have decided you want your money back. There is no principle here just user error!
As others have stated all you need to do is go into the Nintendo store on the console and buy a game under your user ID. The game is then on your switch.
I was trying to achieve something that didn't work. I paid the amount for which I didn't consume or take physical delivery of it. When I realised I couldn't use it I immediately asked for a refund and paid for the game directly through my daughter's account with my payment method. What should have cost £15 appears to have now cost me £35. I admit it was my naivety which lead to this but I haven't used the credit.
You also seem to have missed the part about me not owning a Switch.I accept you don’t appear to be very tech savvy but it is irrelevant that you don’t own a switch. As has been mentioned numerous time’s now just login on your daughters switch with your Nintendo account and spend the £20!0 -

I'm just not familiar with Nintendo's ridiculous multi-layered log-in/ID ecosystem.
Why on earth would any joined up business have different logins for e-shop and Nintendo ID... And i seem to think there's a third type of log-in too.
And yes, there is a principle. Yes it was my mistake, I've never denied that... But irrespective of whether i've changed my mind, purchased by mistake or whatever reason, I hadn't used the goods and appeared not to have a means by which to do so. So therefore decent customer service should have prevailed... That is the principle.
Had they given me the information that the decent posters on this thread have given me, then it would have been sorted, however they weren't helpful... Do you work for Nintendo by any chance champ?
No need to reply, it's a rhetorical question.1 -
Obviously if you claim your tech savvy then I’m sure that’s true. It’s just surprising that with these tech skills you can’t manage to sign into your Nintendo account on your daughters switch and download a game! Also when other posters explained what you needed to do it seemed to confuse you!
Your principle is that you expect Nintendo to undertake activities which could possibly be classed as money laundering because you are unable to use their online store. That a strange principle to have.Yes I do work for Nintendo. Thanks for asking 😂
