NATWEST closed my account and not returning my money.

    You are talking absolute nonsense. "The funds will be returned to source" so either the OP's PayPal or his Grandma's PayPal/bank account? The Ombudsman definitely has a jurisdiction and a say over this, they have the power to make banks do whatever they say in terms of reimbursements, refunds or compensation

    Nope, the ombudsman only regulates decisions made by the banks. The bank has said that the money is not going to be given back - that is not a decision the bank could have made, it's outside of their power. The bank is only acting on orders here.

    And by 'source' I mean the originators of the payments, not all the accounts it was laundered through. 

    Your linked article is no proof that personal current accounts can be used for business purposes. In actual fact, it says that people shouldn't.

    It's quite irresponsible to suggest people should ignore the T&Cs that come with bank accounts.


    True, but abuse of Ts & Cs can only result in your account being closed with notice. Banks cannot freeze your account because you have violated the Ts and Cs and they certainly can't confiscate funds. That is only possible because of suspected money laundering.

    If anybody thinks the way NatWest are handling these issues needs to be looked at and have their process changed to reduce the amount of innocent people having accounts wrongly closed and money held then please sign this and help promote it to help us change it. You just need to put http in front of it or if you’ve been a member longer please post the full link.
