Does Life insurance payments impact credit file

Options
I'm recently taken out life insurance cover and due to a communication error with the premiums I've asked my broker to look for a better deal.
We've found the desired new policy and the recommendation from my broker has been to cancel my direct debit with the current policy provider which will cause the policy to lapse after 90 days, which will overlap with the new policy starting without having to pay the current policy provider for the 90 days.
They have said this won't effect my credit file because it's not a credit agreement, which although I have not information to suggest otherwise this doesn't sit right with me.
Can anyone clarify if what I've been told is correct or not?
Thanks in advanced
