The old one would have to be removed by the delivery guy when they bring the new one. I’ve no other way of getting rid of it. Would the food be ruined if I put it all in the new fridge straight away?
If you order a new fridge/freezer wait till the new one arrives ,as the delivery truck pulls up take the plastic shelves /baskets out of the old unit and put them to one side, when the new unit is plugged in put all your STILL frozen food into the new unit and dispose of the old drawers as and when in the recycle bins, as for your fresh food in the fridge can you not borrow a cool box or even the cool bags that you bring frozen food home from the supermarket and place it in there till the fried is running, should only be out of the fridge for 1/2 an hour or so and do not forget frozen food takes ages to defrost so no panick there.

My new fridge clearly said in the instructions (and the delivery guys said it too) to leave it for 24 hour standing upright before powering it on.

If you ordered it soon I guess you could at least give it a few hours to settle before turning on.

My fridge is only noisy due to the ice maker which has to be one of the best inventions. So useful, but can make worrying noises until you get used to them.

We have just bought our ex daughter in law a new fridge freezer ( she is still the mother of our granddaughters says my wife ) and it said in the instruction manual that the unit could be switched on straight away which she did and no problems.
