Advanced Learner Loan + leaving course early

I'm thinking of leaving the diploma course I'm currently on, paid for via an Advanced Learner Loan. If I do leave early, what's the arrangement for repaying the loan? Am I billed all at once or is the repayment process identical to how it would be if I'd finished the course?

Hi

If you leave your course early, you run the risk of being overpaid some or all of your funding.

You won't know exactly if you will owe or how much will be owed until your circumstances have changed and Student Finance has re-assessed your entitlement for the duration you were actually registered on your course.

Any Overpayment is due for immediate repayment (i.e. does not simply get repaid under the usual T&Cs/process). However the amount that you were/are fully entitled to after their assessment, will go into the usual repayment route.

Good news is that if you cannot afford to repay your Overpayment fully in a lumpsum, their collections process is robust and forgiving. They will be happy to consider a repayment plan subject to an Income and Expenditure check.

My course actually finished last year, but there's placement hours I'm accruing to complete it. If I leave now I suspect it will not include overpayment as the course fee will have been covered already. I'm assuming overpayment occurs if the loan paid covers more course time than the individual has actually completed when they leave?
