Ive been made redundant

Hi all.
I was requested via my office to be put on furlough leave to which i agreed and replied arounf the 28th March. While been of work due to furlough, (early April) I was told my job is no lnoger require as no further contracts.
With in less than 2 weeks and a couple of telepjone meetings I was redundant and I'm now completing my notice period at hone until notice ends.
One for my issues here is that under the job retention scheme could i not remain as a furlough worker until advised to return to work and then do my notice
Thanks for any pointers

All you can do is ask, they will either say yes or no.

I suspect the employer could have continued to furlough you, but the scheme was originally to preserve jobs, and they have decided yours won't be preserved. It is for the employer to decide whether to furlough someone.0

Plus, if the employer did continue the furlough they are continuing to advance the employee money then waiting to get it back from HMRC. Plus the employee continues to accrue holiday and length of service which could increase the cost of any redundancy.0 -
An efficient employer can claim CJRS before having to pay it out, but there are extra costs and risks for an employer to furlough an employee, as you say.Undervalued said:
