small business coronavirus grant taxable for universal credit

I previously posted asking if the small business coronavirus grant was taxable for the purpose of universal credit claims.
I have just received a call from Universal credit and they have told me that they received clarity from government yesterday on this subject, they told me to put in my journal that I had received it but it will not be counted as income or savings against UC because it is solely to keep the business going, we just have to put it on the journal so they are aware of it.

just to add this is the £10,000 or £25,000 grant for rate payers from the council, not the self employed scheme for 80% of earnings they told me this would have to be declared as income.

Interesting to hear that they have suggested the same as has been suggested on the forum.

I would think though that any of the grant you use as your own wages/drawings or to pay household bills would have to be recorded as income for UC purposes for the month it's taken in.
