Took out a policy with the above company 10/3/20 for a weeks holiday 18-25th May 2020 and paid £18.01 for travel insurance for myself and my wife. No chance this holiday will now go ahead so cancelled the policy on the phone this morning. My refund due back from these rob dogs will be a grand total of £1.16 ive been told!!!!!
So much for the sympathetic insurance industry. Legalised fraud

So you didn't actually read the terms and conditions, then?  If you had, you may have been aware that you've probably had seven weeks' cover already (at their risk) and that there may be a small administrative charge for closing the policy early.

Had you fallen ill in the last seven weeks, broken your leg or had a family bereavement or anything else had happened to make travel impossible, they'd have paid out several hundred (or maybe thousands) or pounds for your £16.85 cost.  That sounds like a good deal to me.  Would you cover the potential cost of my holiday for seven weeks if I give you £16.85?
  • You could cancelled for free until 24/3/20. but you waited and while you waited you were covered.

New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

I had to cancel an expensive holiday to Australia last year when my husband died and my insurance company, Leisure Guard, paid up as on my policy. There was a lot of paperwork, but I believe that's usual. It's important to choose a company with a good record of paying out.
