New insurance company asking for a "break in cover letter to be signed" and more

So I've had private motor insurance for years and decided to take a joint motor trade policy with my father a couple of years back to have a go at selling used cars, just to see how it went. Year three renewal was approaching on the motor trade policy and we decided not to proceed as we felt it wasn't worth it. We had used my fathers no claims bonus to attain a discount on the motor trade policy. When we decided not to proceed with the third year I noticed that my no claims bonus was about to expire as it was approaching 24 months from it had been used against a policy. I quickly insured my private car and used the no claims bonus to attain a discount. My new insurer is asking for a break in cover letter to be signed as well as a written conformation for non disclosure of previous policy cancellation. So basically they want a reason for the break in cover which is simple to answer.

My question is would there be any way they could try to worm their way out of me using my valid private car proof of no claims bonus and try to make me use the two year motor trade bonus instead? I have no trust in insurance companies due to the amount of insurance estimates I have put forward for my customers for legitimate claims (not motor) and nearly every time they try to use a clause or this or that not to pay out even though the claims were always legitimate and my customers had always paid for insurance for years at a time without needing to make a claim.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

It's fairly standard to do this as it prevents people who have used the no claims bonus on a different policy or who have had claims and then use an old no claims bonus proof or who have been banned or imprisoned.
You won't have a problem although they may come back ask if you're still a motor trader, I would suggest you include proof you lapsed the motor trade policy (If you have it) and if possible proof your personal vehicle was covered by the motor trade policy eg the list the Insurer gave you of your declared MIB vehicles.
They may decide to not offer you the driving other cars cover
