Hi there.
I need advice on this because I am starting to get a bit stressed

My friend payed for all our flights through her bank. She has travel insurance (through bank) , but the rest of us don't and didn't get it in time.  We had a holiday planned in October but it has been cancelled so she wants to cancel her flight.

Are we covered by her bank too seeing as she payed for them through the bank? Do we wait till the airline cancels them?

Thank you

If the flights are cancelled by the airline you’d get an automatic refund or credit. Have the airline said anything? Definitely do not cancel yourselves before they do as you may not get a refund.
  •  it's not until October our flights, I doubt travel will be really running by then. Its majorca.

Would we be insured by her bank too if she payed by the flights?

Very unlikely that her travel insurance would cover anyone other than her and partner but really depends on the policy. It could have been a group policy but by the sound of it almost certainly not.......

I agree, her insurance will cover her and possibly her partner but not a whole group of friends.

Next time, someone either needs to take out a group insurance policy, or you all need to insure yourselves.  And do it the day you book the holiday, then you're covered.

What do you mean "We had a holiday planned in October but it has been cancelled "

Has the holiday been cancelled,  or just the place you are staying?   were they booked together (flights & place of stay)?

You need to wait until the flight gets cancelled (assuming it does). Then you should be entitled to a refund, although a voucher seems to be the more likely outcome.
Don't cancel the flight - you'll probably get nothing
