Rights if rescheduled flight cancelled?

Hi - easyjet have sent me an option regarding an upcoming (not yet cancelled) flight in May. They say that they will transfer my booking onto any route at any price at any time and I won’t have to pay the difference. This could be quite attractive as I paid for a very cheap flight but could be interested in transferring to an expensive time / route and saving money. 

The small print in the email says: “ Bookings transferred or issued with vouchers will not be eligible for a refund in the event of flight cancellation.”
I understand that this will apply if my original flight in May is cancelled, so I won’t get a refund then, but what about if my rescheduled flight, say in September, is cancelled then? Any ideas?
