Hi im currently on maternity leave and my partner started being self employed after April 2019 but he has stopped CIS tax every month before getting paid. We have apply universal tax credit but this is not even enough to cover us for bills etc while he can’t go into work due to covid 19 would he be entitled to any other scheme. Maybe the self employed scheme because he has been paying tax already.
Thank you

Has your partner completed a tax return for 2019/20? If all his gross income had 20% CIS deductions applied to it, he is very likely to be due a refund. He is not entitled to the self employed grant because his self employment started after 5 April 2019.0

Yes he has some coming back from that which will help for the next month. Wasn’t sure about the grant so that’s good to no thank you for your reply.0
