RAMPING UP

Options
I used to think all sentences beginning, for no reason whatsoever, with the word "SO" were the most annoying sound in the English language.
But now I have found something even worse-----it is the phrase "RAMPING UP".  Yes, you've all heard it many times every day over the past month or two.
Anyone agree ? Or name your own most annoying words or phrases -------predicated ( another one !) on what is in recent and current usage.

"Well, I mean". What do you mean?
    Time frame, time scale, window.
"So" yes that sentence opener is totally irrelevant.

The phrase that probably most "grinds my gears" at the moment is when a politician says "Let me be clear" and then goes on to be anything but.  :s

    “With all due respect”

usually means you’re going to be told something which treats you with absolutely no respect!

Absolutely.  I cannot bear it when I hear them say RAMPING up , and they always, always have to emphasise the word.

The word 'Super' when its used in the way of 'Its super important' or as my niece likes to say 'Its super amazing'.
    Drives me mad.

Park UP - the verb "park" is adequate on its own.

Spot of lunch - again "lunch" is adequate on its own.

Reach out - contact or speak to both use less key depressions and avoid the concept of physically stretching

But that's the beauty of that phrase because the amount of respect due could be "none" and the phrase is still valid.
