Maternity
So my partner has just had a child, and is currently on her maternity pay.
This pay is due to stop June, her return to work is September. She intended to go back to work as soon as the pay stops (pending she discuss flexible work hours).
Her business has since furloughed all staff, although she's still recieving her maternity money it's a very unsteady area what happens after; especially if the business doesn't survive the other side of this pandemic.
Does anyone know what she is entitled during this time as maternity pay is decreasing to little as it is yet alone if she does not get her furlough.

Why was here pay due to stop in June and her not due to return to September? Was she taking 3 months off unpaid originally?

If needed look at eligibility for Universal Credit https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/.
There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators
Be aware that claiming UC will end any Tax Credits, Housing Benefit or other means tested benefits you currently get.
You will be excluded from UC if you have savings over £16,000.
If you are part of a couple you both have to claim and are assessed on your joint circumstances.
You may also be able to claim Council Tax Reduction from your local council.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -
She took early maternity due to a factory environment ( I know they should of found alternative location for her to work, but they didn't have any and she offered to take it before going down the route of paid suspension). So her 39 weeks of pay is up in June & 52 weeks back to work date is June.sharpe106 said:Why was here pay due to stop in June and her not due to return to September?
