Writing a will before a child is born?

We're wanting to get our will sorted before our first child is due in October, and thought I'd try and use an online will writing service but it wouldn't allow me to proceed, does a child need to be named in the will or can it be written as any of our living children instead? if something was to happen before their birth and something happened to them then we do have people we could name for our estate to pass to in that situation and also a guardian in mind.

This is too important to use a will writing service - get a will written by a good solicitor.

You can future-proof your will to some extent and accommodate this child and any future children you may have - but getting the wording right is vital.

Once you have a will in place, review it every five years or so or after any major life changes.
