Vertical blinds

What sort of price should I expect for a good quality blinds for almost the whole house?
I have a 4 bed house and am planning on getting vertical blinds for large bay window in lounge, small bay window in study, and 4 double size windows in bedrooms.
Was hoping to do la ocal firm, but need a ballpark figure.
First quote today was around £500, but wasnt too impressed with the fella, not having a huge range of colours, brought hardly any samples with him and was vague with the quote.
Have asked another local firm to come next week, so really need a ballpark figure (approx).
Am in Cramlington for those of you on northumberland/North Tyneside border.
Any ideas?

We paid £300 for vertical blinds in our 3 bedrooms, one of which has a fairly small window so I would say that £500 sounds reasonable. Hope that helps.0

This is my job, selling and installing blinds you are looking at 10 blinds as bays have to be made in individual sections. The price sounds reasonable for what i guess is a standard fabric. I can buy lots of fabrics in white/cream quite cheaply, if you want to choose from pattern books by Eclipse/Louvolite/Amo/Arena etc then expect to pay more, you are paying for choice. If you want fabircs to reflect heat/light expect to pay more. There are also different headrail systems on offer, many do the same job but if you are concerned about child safety ask for wand controls, if you want the louvres to be equally spaced ask if that is possible, otherwise you may have a 'lazy' slat at either end.
The best advice is ask your friends who they have bought blinds from, get out the yellow pages and ask for 2-3 quotes.0
