Thomas cook bought with Opodo

Hi all,
 We seem to have hit a brick wall. 

Bought flights to South Africa on Skyscanner with Thomas cook. 

At check out you use Opodo for payment, which apparently means they are your travel agency. 

I paid for tickets with my Sainsbury’s credit card. 

Following the collapse, I have been trying to get a refund under section 75 with Sainsbury’s bank. They have finally came back and are unwilling to give a refund as it states Opodo on my statement. 

These flights are not Atol protected. 

I have once managed to get through to Opodo to try find out about a refund but they were unable to give me any update. 

They are now not reachable any longer. 

I have spoken to FCA and they’ve given me some emails for Opodo directly. Which I am going to try. 

But if anyone can assist with some info that would be amazing.

Are Opodo not waiting for their money back to pay you your money back? might be hard as if the flights were not Atol protected then Opodo will be a creditor of TC who went bust with no or limited funds so them getting theirs back first might be non starter.
