I would not recommend that you visit Amsterdam!
As an aside is there any particular reason why you have taken such a strong dislike to the smell of weed? A bad experience with weed in the past maybe?
You really can't change other people's habits just because you dislike something that they are doing and perhaps need to look at changing some of your own habits instead. Maybe try to be less hung up and wound up by the smell for a start.
Short of locking yourself away in a barn in the middle of a field in the countryside I doubt you are ever going to find a property where you won't be at risk of smelling weed at some point.1 -
I did mean rent as not everyone wants to / can buy.
Difficulty is rural properties are not always on ASTs due to having working / workable land and I'm not sure how benefits would be claimed to cover some of the rent and if they can be as an AST is required. Saying this due to your user name.
Also, it tends to be a minimum of 6 months rent in advance, then each time after that is another 6 months.
(Based on what I saw when looking into a lovely rental, with land, several months ago)
You are managing to save up quite quickly to move each time. Are you moving to the right areas and not cheaper areas where weed use is more prevalent?
Again, personal experience
- my last flat in a nicer area was the occasional smell if outside shopping / waiting for the bus,
- this flat, not so nice area, more people doing it including at least half of my block,
I know what you mean about the smell, but at the same time it's easy to become so focused on it that is all you notice once you smell it once and then it turns into an obsession and stress, which in turns affects your MH.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

It's not about the "smell" of weed. It's a drug, the acid Forms from THCD and carbolxates into an aerosol state in which it remains active in the air. The places where I lived there wasn't a whiff, it was multiple flats smoking so much that my whole flat was filled with fumes for over 12 hours a day. This frequently known as "hotboxing", where second hand users get high without even using the drug.
This gradually but surely sealed large stress responses in my brain, which led to neuroplastic changes that exhibit both dissociation and obsession. If you have ever experienced dissociation, which is a symptom of a rather many conditions, you know it can cause some of the worst experiences.
Needless to say if you haven't personally developed severe mental illness then this will be as useful as trying to describe the taste of a particular fruit.

I am not working right now due to illness described.
The area I moved to was specifically because it was not in a cheap area, in a very nice town. I would move into the middle of nowhere if it meant freedom, the issue is finding someone who would acceptt hat and besides working on a farm I cant really see that happening right now.
Read post above about why it isn't just the smell that is negatively affecting me.1 -
Op do you have independent evidence to all these weed smokers ??

Is it someone smoking in a neighbouring property, or people smoking in an alleyway or similar near your house.
If the latter, report it to 101 every time it happens.
And before anyone complains that the police have more important things to worry about, this is the advice I was given by my local police officer. It means they can gather intelligence about potential dealing etc and helps them to know where to focus their efforts. And in my area led to the discovery of a huge cannabis farm in a disused building.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
You're describing your personal state as severe mental illness, so are you seeing somebody qualified to deal with this?
As you said, people develop severe nut allergies but there is zero chance of eliminating nuts from the whole world so they have to learn to deal with it, via avoidance where they can and with medication as back-up. As you're experiencing mental illness due to something you have zero chance of removing from the world, you need to seek professional help to deal with it.4 -

You can tell by the language you are using that you have an unhealthy obsession with the whole subject. Perhaps this is part of your problem. You have become obsessed with weed
You do know there are such things as drug induced illness right? You also know that this is extremely common.
As previously mentioned, of course there is obsession, I mentioned that was a symptom of the fumes (ironically) and secondarily, it is completely natural to be obsessed with something making your life miserable.
If someone was prodding you with a stick you wouldn't be able t let it go.0
