Cancelled our gym membership yesterday, which I was a bit sad about as I've always loved going to the gym but through lockdown we collected different weights and have a good home gym set up now.  Plus I've upped my marathon training so my gym work has altered.  The money will be greatly received by my CC savings account though!

We were hoping to have heard about our new mortgage by now but still nothing, apart from that we're ready to push for exchange and after it all falling through twice already we're desperate for a bit of certainty!  Why is the house buying process in England and Wales so bad?  Here's hoping!

Haven't been very good at no spend days because we're food shopping as and when we need it rather than doing a big shop.  Really need to get back into the habit of food planning again, it made life so much easier!

    Finally under £10,000 of debt!

So excited about this, and the Sains card is on track to be finished by October.  The savings account I opened to put any overpayment into matures this month so that and the interest will be paid straight into the sains account and a new one set up.  From 1st August we'll be able to contribute an extra £100 a month to the debt.

Our last house sale fell through the day after our mortgage got approved.  It was all a bit of a mess and the reason our buyers gave for pulling out resulted in us putting in a complaint against our solicitor as we weren't informed of the issue when we purchased this house.  Turns out that our buyers lied and there was no problem.  So a heap of stress for no reason.  But we lost our dream house.

We have a new buyer now (4th time lucky we're hoping!) and are currently negotiating an offer with the dream house.  Although they had decided that they want £35,000 more for it, they've come down and are only at £15,000 more than we'd previously agreed now.  So we're just holding out for a minute to see if they'll come down further.  We always said we'd go to the amount that they are currently wanting and were amazed we'd got it so cheap so it's not a problem for us - more a thing of principle now!  I'm almost at a stage where I don't care anymore and might just go live in a tent on a beach, the stress is just a little much.

But yay to single figure debt!

Savings account matured and got £21.34 interest, which is a lot better then nothing!

    Sains: £1030.14
    NatW: £6880.17

I've also just deposited a cheque from my local building society account for £557.32 into my current account, as soon as it's cleared it'll come off the sains card taking it down to £472.83.  DD goes out on the 1st July so it'll be £322.82 which I'll pay in full on 1st August.

Then we'll be paying £550 a month towards the NatW card.  The £550 a month is made up from: £200 - HSBC CC (paid off last year), £150 (sains card), £100 (NatW card) and an extra £100 we've been saving for next month which we'll then no longer need.

Pay £557.32 to Sains as soon as cheque clears
1st July: pay £150 Sains card
    21st July: £100 NatW
1st Aug: pay £322.82 to Sains
1st Aug: pay £127.18 to NatW (remainder of £550 monthly payment)
21st Aug and then recurring each month: pay £550 to NatW
Balance transfer Feb 2022 (unless 0% fee BT card becomes available before then - I will NOT bank with Sant...der due to previous issues)

    Debt free: August 2022!

I think this makes sense... please correct me if I'm wrong!

House sale is still going through... new house still not accepting offer but has had no viewings so we're waiting her out!

Just calculated and over half of it has gone!  If I didn't have torn ligaments in my ankle I'd dance around the kitchen right now, maybe I'll just dance in my chair.

Thanks @WinterWarrior! Feels like a big achievement.

Sains DD has gone out so that’s down to £322.82 which I’ll be making the final payment on 1st August. Can’t quite believe that will be gone. It’s followed us round for years, always paying the minimum, always adding a little here and there. But finally the end is in sight!

Then it’s just one to concentrate on.

Our house sale is still going through. Although they sent through a load of questions and asked for certificates yesterday and we have none of them. We’re happy to pay an indemnity on it but whether our buyers will kick up a fuss is another matter. I’m so over moving house at this point that if they do I’d just take it off the market I think and try again in a few years time. The house we want to buy is still insisting on more money than we previously agreed so we have no where to go anyway!

in exciting news my husband is swimming the English Channel next week. It’s something that’s taken over our lives recently and we’ve spent a lot of money on. I’m so excited it’s nearly happening!
