If you mean you've got contents insurance in your name, the address you've given the insurers is the place where you're actually living, and everything else you've told them is correct, I don't see what the problem is.

But I don't know what you mean by "I'm registered living at my mum's house" or why you think that would be relevant to the insurance.

Yes I have contents insurance at my aunts  but I'm in the electoral roll at my mum

You shouldn't be if you don't live there. Change everything to your actual address otherwise it will start to complicate things like your credit record.

For those wondering what this was about:

"Bit of a long story. last year i lost my home after being a carer for my grandmother for many years. I now moved in with my aunt and her family but i'm not officially living there 

im register living at my mums house it was a tough time after the lost of my grandmother and things moved very fast so it was all a bit messed up. 
A lot of my things from the house went to my aunt's home  which we using as my things was new.
i have home insurance with john lewis  which they transferred over to my aunt home it up to be renewed   and want to keep it as i travel alot for work and my things are covered and some of my stuff in in the loft and need to be insured.   

my question really is  will i still be covered if i had to make a claim
