  • well balance transfer from his mbna to his lloyds card isnt happening, just logged on and checked and balance transfer rate has gone.  im wondering if its because his lloyds card has gone slightly into credit as an amazon refund has put the card back in credit without us realising.

  • cant even do the balance transfer from my barclays to my mbna!  got to call tomorrow between 9 and 5 as that department is now closed.  i have listed my breadmaker and egg boiler/poacher on facebook so hopefully someone will buy them.
  • £5100 transfered from my barclays to my mbna for 20 months 0%.  minimum payment dd set up, which im ok with as means i can throw a bit more at some of the interest accruing cards.  returning a few bits to next this morning which im ashamed to say will be a good £300 off the balance.  seriously school shoes for monkey boy are ridiculous as he is literally the same size foot as me now so thank heavens for next and ordering to try and return those that dont fit.

i have got a beauty appointment this monring and afterwards we are going to next to return the bits and then a car wash as a bird has kindly left a present all over the windscreen which needs to be cleaned.  most likely we will get a drive through for lunch as monkey boys treat for the weekend.  to be fair he is going to have to sit for an hour and a half being good so i like to get him a treat and he doesnt complain when i have appointments and sits as good as gold waiting for me so if he wants a happy meal for lunch today he can have one.

i have also cleared out my drawers and i have a lot of clothes that i am going to be listing so once the ironing and beds are done this afternoon i am going to list a few more things.
  • well after a 4hr nap i need to do something productive.  something is off in my body as when ive looked at my fitbit for the past 2 weeks i am sleeping alot.  ive a reminder to call the dr tomorrow and book in for some bloods to be done as its not good.  possibly part of the reason why im being so lazy at the moment as i just want to sit on the sofa and do nothing.  honestly if you could see my house right now you wouldnt sit down.  bathroom and kitchen are clean but the rest of the place is messy!  i wont get round to listing the clothes today or doing the beds, but i will get the ironing done and put away.

tomorrow is crazy we leave the house at 7.30am and we wont get back in till 8pm tomorrow night so need to be super organised tonight with regards to meals ready for tomorrow.

  • ironing just about done and most of it put away apart from what is in the living room, sat down with my last cup of tea of the day before i tackle the last of it.  i have no washing either apart from what we have worn today so yay
dishwasher emptied, milk bottles out for the milk man, gym bag ready, lunch for me and monkey boy made and in the fridge, snacks in gym bag for monkey boy all done and by the front door ready for the morning.
powering through so we can do minimal in the house tomorrow night when we get in.  hoover has been set off and is hoovering the kitchen as i type and ill let it run in the living room once ive finished ironing.
no time for a shower tonight before bed but my bed is minging and over due a change so i dont mind not having a shower tongight.  thats tuesday nights job as i know i wont have the energy to do it tomorrow as its a superking bed and a very heavy mattress.

  • pay day today for us both :)  its literally all gone though!  i have been and raided some accounts, all the little savings accounts i have emptied and paid a chunk off a couple of cards

so i had 1K on my tsb card - £700 paid off that
£500 overdraft (dont ask i dont even know how i ended up with that this month) paid off
    £150 off my next
    £1200 off his MNBA
£750 off my barclays.  £750 remaining

so most of my barclays got transfered to an mbna card in my name which is interest free for 20 months so that is something.

i took a payment holiday on the lloyds loan this month to gain a bit of traction with card payments.

not even focusing on my next account or my mbna yet, next pay day at end of june is going to be taking another payment holiday for the lloyds loan and then paying the rest of my tsb card off, then my barclays and then throwing everything spare at the mbna card in his name.  i am also contemplating doing a small balance transfer from the mbna in his name to his lloyds to get rid of the credit balance in the hope that it will open up some 0% interest offers.

the ktichen gadgets i had listed didnt sell so need to get back on that, i know what im like though and im a nightmare as i hate selling things.  im going to be super strict this month with the food shop as the food and fuel budget i threw on my tsb card this month to clear the balance.  i dont think it will be an issue, his car has a full tank of fuel and i need to use his to give it a good run out and mine has half a tank.  need to put my mileage claim in at work as that will be a fair amount and will cover a tank of fuel but i havent kept track of where i was and when so i will need to go through my emails tomorrow to work it out.  its approx 20 miles each way at 40p a mile so its not an insignificant sum but i forget about it all the time and really why should i be out of pocket for it?  then there is all the little trips to the post office and the supermarket for work so really its something i need to keep on top of.

  • I found that mindset really helpful after my LBM (a few years after to be honest), no matter how small the amount it’s better off in my pocket than the employer / bank / tax man.
  • woohoo after checking non stop there is an offer on his lloyds card, only 9 months interest free, but better than nothing.

i have just transfered 4.5K from his mbna to his lloyds so that reduces the mbna interest.

hubbys paycut hasnt yet come into play, im expecting it to next month which is a kicker as thats approx £300 a month lost due to his stupid company cutting bonuses (his annual bonus is always paid monthly and generally is an extra 15/10% on top of his base rate, and has always had that for the past 10years).  he is due home mid august and new job potentially has a start date of the october.  same money as his base rate, business class flights to and from ship, pension (this is huge and well worth the transfer), plus shares in the company as part of bonus structure.  i dont understand that fully yet but the way it was sold to him was every year they get so many shares in the company depending on the bonus rating and then after x years they can cash them in if they want but the longer they leave them the more bonus shares they get.

it is a bit of an expensive week but its half term and im not overly concerned with it as i know it will reign back in next week.  a day out is easily £25 and thats the cheap option, even going to the park is  £5 plus as they want ice cream, we are trying to alternate house days and activity days to spread the cost.

budget for next month is worked out, clears my barclays card, no payment on the lloyds loan and then another £400 to pay off something.  going forward with this stupid no bonus this year it means that we are down to £700 a month to pay off rather than 1K but its going in the right direction.  i am getting a bit freaked out at all the cards we have at the moment that are carrying balances, but i know it will get better and im just having a panic over nothing.

sky tv has gone and we are set for netflix and disney plus which we are really enjoying at the moment now that i have worked out how to use the tv when its not connected to a sky box.  i will be getting rid of my tv licence as well come the end fo the year as i dont see the point in paying for it as where we live you need a set box or sky to watch tv, and we dont use bbc i player so i think we are safe in being able to get rid of it.
