Students and Furlough

Hi Everyone,

  I am completing my 3rd year of University on a year placement. My placement contract was terminated early on the 17th March due to Covid-19. Official end date was 31st May. Upon losing my full time job I am currently trying to seek a new job with no luck so far, can I be furloughed for a university placement?  

As well as this full time students are not eligible for any government benefits. So I have found myself in a position of no wage and no financial help available for the foreseeable future until I can get a job. Is anyone else in a similar position, struggling as a student or has any advice?

I don't see why your contract isn't eligible for furlough.

You need to ask our employer to put you back on the books  fo furlough. It is the employers decision.
