Coronavirus - Pay CC settlement figure ?

Hello. Lost job due to coronavirus & going to struggling to pay credit card debts in the near future. My parents have offered to help out & can give me a small lump sum - I’ve spoken to lenders and all have agreed a 3 month break, but I worry that if the lockdown is in for 6-9 months I’m unable to get a job, so after the payment break I’m in same position as today unless lenders agree to another freeze across the board .
Question - has anyone enquired about a settlement figure and are lenders open to it ?
Thanks

You'll need to miss a few payments and default first.
If you can hold out until it's sold to a DCA, you'll get a potentially bigger reduction. However, watch out for a CCJ in the meantime.0 -
Hello. I meant arrange this with the credit card company prior not let it go to collections . I know they would usually not be interested but likewise with the payment freeze / not affecting credit score I thought they may be more responsive due to unprecedented times .0

No. You'll still need to wreck your credit file first as the default will have to be registered with the CRAs.
An agreed payment holiday is very different from simply not wanting to repay the debt.0 -
Credit card companies won't accept anything less than the full debt, if it's not defaulted. With current circumstances most will allow you some form of lower monthly payment or payment holiday, but that's not what you asked.
Most likely if the lockdown is extended they will extend the 3 months offered, however your concern may be getting a new job once the lockdown has ended to be able to make payment, but again you won't be the only one in that situation.0
