Faulty TV

Options
I bought a television in December 2019 shortly after Christmas end of January it started to play up such as turning its self off and randomly changing from one source to the other, i put up with it thinking that it was nothing, but as time went on it was happening more frequently.  i rang the company and they arranged to have the television collected by DPD, i didnt have the original  box so i wrapped it in bubble wrap and encased it in strong cardboard with packing tape to seal, it was collected as arranged. I then received a phone call about 8 days later telling me that it had arrived back to them with a cracked screen and was not packaged in anything but bubble wrap. fortunately for me it was my partner that had packaged it up as i was at work and he had sent me a picture to show how it was packaged, i told them that that could not be so i sent them a picture of how television was packaged, so i have had various emails from them , they are refusing to do anything with the television other that give me a £50 pound voucher or send it back to me so i can get it repaired by someone else. they are not even willing to investigate the original fault on the television, the last email i had from them stated that the legs were broken but there was no mention of a cracked screen !  i have just used my final act to reject due to the original fault using Consumer Rights Act 2015, i am wondering if i have done the right thing with this as i have never had to do anything like this before. i paid using my credit card and have paid insurance on it in fact am still paying it but they have said i cannot claim through it ?? somebody please help   Thank you

As they arranged the pick-up then they took responsibility for it once it came into the possession of the courier company. If it arrived damaged (and you can prove the status of it as it was collected) then that's their fault.
