Amazon seller

Hi - I have bought a product on amazon from a seller "cyprus bbq".  It was £189 but when I checked the sellers own website it was £30 cheaper.  I contacted them but they said it was already dispatched and they have costs to cover - not fair to put those costs on the customer.  Please can someone tell me if this is allowed.  Thanks

Of course it is, amazon fees, and many things can come into play. Is there delivery on the sellers site and not amazon? Many things can be different.

Or course some sellers charge the same and encourage you to use their shop next time.

Amazon give you a lot more protection as a buyer. Make your choice, pay your price.

Yes, it's allowed. In theory you could return it and buy it again at the cheaper price, but depends whether the postage costs make it worthwhile.

Thanks for your comments - will probably be too expensive to return.  It was free Amazon delivery. Just a bit annoyed I didn’t check first - £30 in current situation is a lot of money.  They offer free delivery on their website and have said there are a number of fees and additional Amazon charges that are included in the selling price. £30 is a lot to pass onto the customer!  Thanks for your help.

That's of course up to them, but do realise that you also have additional protection from scams and unscrupulous retailers by purchasing via the Amazon Marketplace portal. This could well be a very reliable and conscientious internet dealer, but you didn't know that at the time of purchase.
