Greenhouse Base

Options

I have chosen the best place for my greenhouse. The soil is not good for growing directly into it so was considering pavings slabs. Would this be the best way to go? It is 8ft long x 6ft which takes me to just short of the blackcurrant bush (there is room to make the base bigger than the greenhouse)

A complete novice to greenhouse gardening, so advice welcome re the base and what would be involved
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

My greenhouse is on slabs.  Easier to keep clean. I grow my tomatoes and chillies in 10 or 12 inch pots (with saucers) using fresh compost every year.

I would also put a weed membrane down under whatever you're going to sit the slabs on because otherwise, unless you butt the slabs close to each other or point it, youll find things sprouting in between.
Clear your area and level it as best you can and tamp it down as much as possible, lay sand or similar, lay slabs level. You could introduce a slight` fall if you wanted to take advantage of the guttering on the greenhouse to fashion a water butt system from.
I found our greenhouse too low for me and I'm 5'8" so we raised it last week on wooden blocks. The weight of the greenhouse will keep it in place. O you could lay some blocks or build a proper small wall for it [ my father made a course six bricks high for his.]
Mines on common or garden concrete, a two piece slab. I found ants nest underneath my trays so when we raised it last week I siliconed the gap up to stop the little blighters. I always grow my toms in flower pots from supermarkets with supports. Never had a problem.
