Can you switch energy tariffs with same provider through Uswitch or MSE Energy Club?

I took out my existing EON fixed price tariff through Uswitch last summer and this comes to an end soon. I would like to stay with EON as I don't want to risk my SMETS2 meters losing some of their functionality if I were to change suppliers. I know that SMETS2 meters are supposed to retain full functionality between different suppliers but reading various threads on here, that doesn't always happen. So as an existing customer, will EON let me take out one of their new tariffs through USwitch or MSE CEC, or are they reserved for new customers only?

Thanks Frugal. Looking further into this, it seems the current EON tariff (Fix Online Exclusive v36) on Uswitch is for new customers only (the t&c's make this very clear) and Uswitch have confirmed that any retention switch to EON would be rejected by them, if that's what the t&c's state. However on MSE CEC, a different EON tariff is shown (Fix 1 Year Exclusive April 2020) and nothing is mentioned in the t&c's that this tariff is for new customers only. So looks like switching through CEC is the way to go if I want to stick with E.ON. Thanks again0

Hi,the CEC sometimes gets 'exclusive' deals which are not available direct from the supplier, you may even qualify for the cashback.0

Oh dear, it seems MSE CEC is hiding the cheapest E.ON deal for existing E.ONcustomers. In my CEC profile, if i change my existing dual energy supplier to anything other than E.ON, then I'm seeing 'E.ON's Fix 1 Year Exclusive April 2020' tariff - this has a daily standing charge of 8p (approx) for both fuels with fairly competitive unit rates. There seems to be nothing in this tariff's t&c's which state this is for new E.ON customers only. Yet if keep my existing supplier as E.ON in my CEC profile then this tariff doesn't show up, instead I get E.ON's v38 Exclusive tariff which is a LOT more expensive. Anyone else seeing this?
