Delivery man damaged my property

Since DHL are pretty good and give you quite a tight timed slot why weren't you there to receive your ladders?
May I also direct you to the film "Sorry We Missed You" which might help you understand the the courier industry a little more.

The quote for a new gate was £200 (which DHL originally asked us to arrange). I don’t have that kind of money to throw around on other people’s poor decision making, unfortunately 😐“(I think you're being perhaps a tad presumptious to call him stupid and lazy. I think it's a bit much to call it trespassing too.)”
Na, I’ll stick with my opinion, thanks 👍 As for trespassing: he had no right, reason, nor permission to climb over my gate into my back garden. So, yeah, trespassing.1 -

DHL deliveries are supposed to attempt delivery 3 times (should the recipient not be at home), so no, he wasn’t trying to do me a favour - it was just laziness/not wanting to come back another day. It’s not a good idea to reward stupidity/laziness. Also, he left my property unsecured, so no I don’t feel the need to thank him 😂👍
Times are changing I'm afraid. What used to be won't be the same and that is something we'll all have to get used to. The world will never be the same again even when this nonsense is over.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.0 -
Rainmaker,
Because they WERE supposed to give us a time slot, but DIDN’T - otherwise I would have been in!
and yes I’ve seen that film. Bit weird tbh.

452,
No, he didn’t. Delivering a package does not give them full reign to do as they please. If he couldn’t deliver it, they’re supposed to put it back on the van. They have three attempts to deliver, after that it gets sent back.1 -
Askeym,
This incident occurred long before the world went into lockdown. The reason it’s been going on for so long is because
DHL refused to engage with us, saying they would only deal with the sender of the package (who are based in China). The Chinese company refused to contact DHL, so we had to ask Amazon to get involved. After months of going round in circles, we finally found someone at DHL who took it seriously.1
